Who is eligible to stay at David’s House?

  • To stay at David’s House, families must have a child (up to 23 years of age) receiving medical care through Dartmouth Health Children’s in Lebanon, NH.
  • Families with patients being treated for high-risk pregnancies also qualify to stay.
  • If you are an adult patient, or family member of an adult patient, looking for accommodations during treatment, please call Maynard House at 603-643-3277.

Additional information

  • Because treatment times can vary, we do not impose stay limits, and thus we never know when rooms will be available. We are happy to take room requests as far in advance as reasonable, however, no accommodations can be guaranteed until within 24 hours of your intended arrival due to our health screening requirements.
  • Accommodations are offered to those family members and support people involved in the daily care of the patient.
  • Guests must be able to independently care for themselves or come with a caregiver.
  • Siblings are welcome as long as they are supervised by a parent or another adult family member. Child care is not provided.
  • The check-in process usually takes approximately 20 minutes and includes paperwork, an overview of our House policies followed by a tour of the House. After orientation, families are shown to their private room.  Please allow time for proper check in.
  • At time of check in, a valid photo ID (such as drivers license, State Issue ID, a valid passport, USA Employment Authorization or State ID) is needed.
  • Weapons, alcohol and illegal drugs (as well as THC-containing products) are not permitted anywhere on our property. The use of medical marijuana is not permitted on our campus.
  • The following are not allowed on our property: cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, hookahs, cigars and use of smokeless tobacco products including chewing tobacco and snuff.
  • The house has an elevator and handicap accessible bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • The House allows service animals as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act. Emotional Support Animals and pets are not allowed.
  • There is no fee to stay at David’s House, though we are happy to accept donations of any amount. Staff are also happy to provide information for guests to take back to their communities to encourage forms of support from any interested parties.

  • Our 20 bedrooms are various sizes and shapes. They can accommodate anywhere from 1 to 6 guests per room, depending on the configuration of beds, cots, cribs, or pack and plays. Staff assign guest bedrooms based on a variety of factors, thus requests for a specific room cannot be accommodated.
  • Sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, and washcloths are all provided. TO KEEP OUR HOME PEST-FREE, PLEASE DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS FROM HOME.
  • There are two kitchen areas available to guests so they can prepare their own meals or take advantage of the food and snacks that we provide. Many nights during the week we have meals provided for our guests, or local businesses may deliver a meal.
  • Limited cupboard and refrigerator space is assigned to each guest bedroom, so please feel free to bring your own food/beverage items (food is not allowed in Guestrooms except where medically necessary).
  • Complimentary travel-size personal items if you forget anything.
  • Washers, dryers, and laundry supplies are all provided free of charge (open 7:AM-9:PM).
  • Free wireless internet throughout the house.
  • Play areas for children (indoor and outdoor as weather permits).
  • Free parking (please discuss the need for more than one vehicle with staff).
